A much loved and travelled 50ft classic, Roly is a Rampart 48 built in 1974 by Desty Yard in Southampton.
Roly regularly goes to Paris through the waterways of France, as well as along the northern coast of France and the southern coast of England. She is currently berthed in Birdham Pool Marina.
Her owner, Liz Poole, the Vice Commodore of the Rampart Owners Club brought her to us in 2021 to have significant repair work undertaken to the aft ends of the wheel house sides, and the flying bridge structure.
The aft cockpit sole was also modified, and new cockpit locker lids were made. The final task was to apply ‘Coelan’ to all the new work and additional top up coats over the rest of the superstructure and main deck.
We managed to complete all works within a month, with the boat lying alongside in the water. At times, there was wet weather to dodge, but we were fortunate to not have our progress hindered.
