Originally built by Foster’s Boatyard in Emsworth, circa 1890, Terror collected the catch of the large ketches that dredged for Oysters in the local waters.
Left uncared for and in decay for years, Terror was almost lost. She had been stored at various places over a long time when thankfully, with lottery funding, her restoration was given the go-ahead.
We carefully rebuilt her between 2004-06 and poured a huge amount of love and enthusiasm into this very special 30’ gaff wooden sailing boat. Terror was re-launched and blessed at a special local event, filled with pomp and ceremony!
We set aside some of Terror’s timbers left at the end of the restoration, which were donated and used in the build of the iconic 30’ yacht, Collective Spirit, for the remarkable Boat Project in 2011.
On-going, Terror has a new working life as a tourist sail boat in Chichester Harbour.
