Built by Berthon and designed by H G May, 12-ton Gauntlet class, Tiger C was launched in 1939 and is constructed in carvel teak on oak with a lead keel and spruce mast.
Initially, we carried out works to include re-bedding her ballast keel and fitting new throat bolts through her iron floors, whilst at the time, leaving her owner to ‘scrape and paint’ as a very capable hands-on enthusiast.
More recently, in 2022 after spending most of the lockdown period on a mooring, or in a boatyard on the River Tamar, Tiger C returned to her home of nearby Itchenor.
We were then tasked over a three week period in the shed with repainting, re-varnishing and anti-fouling her, in readiness for the sailing season.
